Heavenly Father Truly is Mindful of Us!!

So the most amazing thing happened yesterday. As I posted before, my mom has been battling a very aggressive cancer for the past few months. Well Tuesday we got some very scary news. A scan showed that the cancer had spread to her liver and her bones. We thought that she had been improving so this was a terrible shock to us all. 

My parents were trying to figure out what they were going to do. Their Stake President told my mom to do whatever her doctors told her to and to have faith in them. So she decided yesterday to try the chemo and see how things go. 

The amazing part came next. She had pretty much just decided to do the chemo when someone knocked at the door. My dad opened it up to see Elder Zwick, of the First Quorum of the Seventy, standing there. He then explained to them that he had received specific instructions from President Monson to come and give my mom a blessing. 

He blessed her that she had more work to do on this earth and that she needed to get better to do it. And that she needed to put her will and trust in the Lord's hands. There was a lot more to it but that was the part that really hit us all. 

This experience brought us so much peace and strength. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful and righteous woman in our family, and I hope that she can see how much she really has an impact on everyone that she meets. We still have no idea how President Monson found out about my mom being sick, but this was definitely a testament to the power of the Priesthood and that Heavenly Father truly is mindful of our struggles in this life.
